About the Author

Krista Kay Bontrager

Krista Kay Bontrager is a Communications and Education Specialist at Reasons To Believe (RTB). She is also the Dean of Online Instruction, overseeing the development of new courses for RTB's educational programs, Reasons Institute and Reasons Academy.

After graduating from Biola University with a B.A. in communications (radio/TV/film), Krista earned two Master of Arts degrees in theology (1995) and Bible exposition (1999) at Talbot School of Theology. Ms. Bontrager is currently working toward a Th.M. in exegetical theology at Covenant Theological Seminary. She is also an adjunct faculty member at Biola University, teaching courses in biblical studies and theology.

Krista moderated and produced RTB's weekly webcast, Creation Update, and contributed to the development of several audio and video products. In addition to The Bigger Picture on Creation, she was a co-writer on the documentaries Dual Revelation and Journey Toward Creation and authored RTB’s handbook on education, Teaching Science from a Christian Worldview: Navigating the Maze of Educational Options.

Her articles have appeared in RTB's Connections, as well as in Perspectives on Science & Christian Faith (the journal of the American Scientific Affiliation), and Preview Family Movie & TV Review. Krista holds an active membership in the Evangelical Theological Society.

Krista's passion is teaching laypeople of all ages the great truths of the Christian faith in an accessible, user-friendly manner. She enjoys speaking on a wide variety of biblical and educational topics, including historical and cultural apologetics.

Krista and her husband, Robert, live in Southern California where they homeschool their two children.
